Day 112
13.7 miles to Ensign Cowell Shelter. Adam was so kind to make us pancakes and sausage before we left his place. When we got to the parking area DogTag hadnt been feeling the greatest, so we convinced him to go get checked out, and the Trio would keep hiking. I broke in my new shoes and got them pretty dirty right out of the parking lot, but trail Shoes are supposed to be grubby. I stopped at the Washington Monument State Park and a park ranger, Kemp offered me a cup of coffee and I chatted with him for a good bit. We saw the first Washington’s Monument-I of course played One Last Time from Hamilton, and sang along (as I always do- sorry not sorry). The rest of the trail was pretty standard - some super rocky, some nice and smooth, some up and down, some flat. Hard to characterize days when they are long and cover so much ground.
