Day 40

11 miles to spring mtn shelter. We left Elmer’s and headed across the French broad river. The destruction from the hurricane is still prevalent along the banks. And then we climbed and climbed. Today was hot: 85 degrees which was a challenge. I was frustrated because inhad been doing so well and today was slow and painful and hard but I saw some lizards, a rainbow and a nice sunset.
