8 miles to Siler Bald Shelter. First day of the Franklin Baptist Church Pancake Breakfast, such welcoming people. Overall not a bad hike. The shelter was nice, we met Crocodile, a thru hiker from Australia and 3 section hikers from TN, had a good chat and hung out around the fire. Climbed up to Siler Bald-our first one. The hike to the bald was hard, but we did get to see some nice views.
