Day 11

Unicoi gap to Tray Mountain Shelter. 5.7 miles. Started the day off with yoga and stretching at the hostel today, then we had breakfast and packed up, caught the shuttle with Starfleet, Chicken, Zelda and Trippy Hippy. The hike itself wasn’t too bad, but it was cold and windy. There was snow and hoarfrost which was stunning. Definitely a different experience-I’ve never hiked in the snow before. There was a lot of wind but managed to make it to the shelter with no problems. I was definitely Mosey-ing and enjoying the scenery, and also took my time to not fall. We have 8 people in the shelter like sardines to try to escape the cold and wind. Hot water in a Nalgene bottle is niiiiiiiice. It was nice to be back on the trail after a couple of days but I am definitely hoping for better weather tomorrow!
