Day 9-10

Day 9 & 10. We took a double zero at Stanimals Hostel Around the Bend. There was severe weather in north GA that had tornadoes and snow and rain, plus my feet need a break. We went over to Clayton with the Outdoor 76 Shuttle and enjoyed an afternoon walking around the downtown, and then hung out at the hostel, reorganized our gear, shifted the plan and did a lot of stretching. I (Crystal) am just not quite ready to go farther right now and don’t want to risk a serious injury. Trying to not compare myself to other hikers is hard but, “hike your own hike” and “taking my time and I’ll make it to Maine just fine” are my current mottos. It was frustrating to not be on the trail but seeing some of the people who came in cold and wet it was definitely a good decision. It was fun to talk to other hikers and pet some dogs and relax. Tomorrow will probably be a cold start but hopefully will warm up and we will have another few nice days of hiking.
