Day 192

Written on Sep 14th 2021 at 4:11 AM

9/13/21 Another beautiful day and hike. No mountains or ridges to climb. Initially trail had the usual rocks and tree roots at its base but than was clear hiking on firm ground. No mud. Walked by Nahmakanta stream than trail turned inland eventually reaching Antlers campsite on Jo-Mary Lake. Many NOBO’s initially seen including Two-Fer who I met way back on my second day on the trail with my brother Allen and Piper. She looked great and we spent some time discussing our adventures.

Day 192

9/14/21 Watched sunrise over Jo-Mary Lake. Another beautiful day, easiest hiking of the entire trail with only 1,000 feet elevation gain. Saw a couple I had met initially in Maryland and then in NJ with Allen heading north. No one heading south except myself and Mark. Passed by the beautiful Cooper Brook Falls Lean-to. Got to our food catch placed by AT Hostel by 1:30 PM. Saw family doing the entire AT starting last September. Being home schooled. They are from Elkton, Maryland and grandmother resupplying them and gave us trail magic. Camped on Crawford Pond and watched a couple of Loons. Tomorrow rain expected all day with possible severe thunderstorms. Hope it holds off until we break camp.
