8/15/21 Overnight it was cool so the tent fly was soaked in dew. Climbed down a little up as well along some farmer’s fields. Saw some cows thru a fence that just stared at me. Saw some Black bear scat with lots of seeds in it from what it had eaten but still have not seen a bear. Walked into town and crossed the White River. Found the spot I was going to initially meet Michele at Tigertown Road but she wanted to meet on Podunk Road about 0.8 miles farther. AT went back in the woods climbed the steepest hill of the day down to a road with no sign. Michele couldn’t find me as there was no kiosk for the trail. No cell service so we both were frustrated. I climbed up the hill got cell service back so she drove back down Podunk Road and saw me. Went to hotel took a shower and out for late lunch. Resupplied at Shaws did laundry and Michele had to leave to go home as she works tomorrow. It was late maybe 7:30 PM. Thanks to Laurie for arranging the hotel and shuttle back to the trail tomorrow. Crossing Connecticut River tomorrow into New Hampshire tomorrow.

8/16/21 Got picked up by shuttle driver at 8:39 AM and arrived at AT about 9:15 AM. Hiked thru the woods then Into the town of Norwich,Vermont. Went into a general store got a soda and sandwich and went to the post office to mail something home. Crossed the Connecticut River so left Vermont and went into New Hampshire which was great walking thru Hanover where Dartmouth is located. Went into a food coop where they requested I wear a mask and they gave me one.Climbed up to Velvet Rocks which had no view. Someone on Guthook remarked “just one more steep hill with no view, add it to the thousand others. Beautiful day but mosquitoes were horrible. Saw only a few people hiking but Hanover was bustling with Dartmouth students. Passed thru some short wetlands. Was going to stealth camp by a stream where I got water but someone was already there. It was getting dark but pressed on to climb Moose Miuntain which I had with Sarah and Lola in the past in the winter. Could have just cowboy camped there but in the dark hiked to Moose Mountain Shelter and set up my tent.Checked out the privy which had a disco ball hanging from the ceiling.
