Day 161

Written on Aug 14th 2021 at 8:46 PM

8/14/21 Awoke at 3:00 due to a rainstorm. I had to quickly get out of the tent and bring in all of my clothes that were drawing on a clothesline. The hike was similar to yesterday‘s with going up and down multiple unnamed Hills. Went down to one road and there was trail magic with soda and snacks and .2 miles up the road was a small store where I was able to get some ice cream and additional snacks. Limited but better views than yesterday. There were some fields that we crossed. Climbed 3758 feet and descended 4202 feet which is quite a bit. It was getting dark so decided to stealth camp at an excellent site a top an unnamed hill. Today again it was quite hot and chafing has started to become more of an issue. I hope it doesn’t get worse and cooler weather is forecast for the next several days. Michele is kindly meeting me tomorrow to help me resupply and do some laundry but will get back on the trail. Should be crossing into New Hampshire tomorrow.
