Day 160

Written on Aug 13th 2021 at 8:28 PM

8/13/21 Didn’t sleep great last night had to get caught up on emails and route planning also campsite near a road so heard cars going by. However took a shower in the morning which was great. Hiked next to Kent Pond which was nice but then climbed 1,300 feet to Quincy Mountain which had no views. In fact no views at all. Hiking was hard because it was all PUDS (pointless ups and downs). Hot temps in the mid upper 80’s. Climbed 3,399 feet and descended 2,889 feet. Saw some NOBO’s and SOBO’s. Met a flip flipper named “no name” who was slower than me!! Got dark earlier than expected and thunderstorms were possible so decided to stealth camp near a stream. Others had the same idea so went a little farther to a nice spot. Saw a large caterpillar which I took a picture of and will become a beautiful Luna Moth. Plan on getting up early to get some miles in tomorrow.Of note a real ladder had been placed on the trail to go down a small drop. I never saw that before.
