Day 112
Written on Jun 26th 2021 at 7:47 PM
6/26/21 I had a good night at the Doyle motel. Went to breakfast and my sister Paula met me at 10:30 with re-supplies. We had lunch at a pizza place and started our hike going through the town of Duncannon Pennsylvania. We crossed the Juniata River followed by the Susquehanna River. We then climbed about 900 feet to the ridge. Paula spotted a copperhead up to 2 feet in length on the side of the trail. Walking on the ridge was slow Going because it was quite rocky. This is Paula‘s first backpacking trip and as it was getting late in the afternoon decided to camp at the Clarks ferry Shelter.
