6/24/21 I was at Lisa Hostel in Boiling Springs last night in a trailer and she had chickens near the trailer and the roosters were crowingAround 4:30 AM and I was unable to sleep because of that. Had breakfast with Laurie and she walked about a mile and a half north on the 80 with me and we said our goodbyes. Weather was sunny and warm but actually hard because much of a hike was done in sparse woods and farmers fields. I think these farms are owned by Mennonites as I saw some people in their traditional garb. Like a sign I saw on someone’s front yard so I took a picture of it pack was heavy because there was no water to drink until the last mile of the hike. Loaded up with water there then ascended approximately 800 feet to the Darlington shelter. Most of the hike was on smooth dirt.
