6/23/21 Hiked with Laurie and her dog George by slack packing because Laurie doesn’t backpack. Got a shuttle back to mile 1112.3 and left her camper at Lisa’s Hostel in Boiling Springs. Cold morning temps probably in the high 40’s. Warmed up nicely to a beautiful summer day. Hiked thru rock maze which was fun. Then to Center Point Knob. Not difficult hiking. From there thru cornfield around a beautiful duck pond to ATC Mid-Atlantic Regional office which was closed. Meet several other solo hikers. Lisa picked us up there back to her hostel.Laurie and George stayed in the camper while I was there in my own small trailer on her property as there was no room in the bunk house. Showered and Lisa washed my dirty clothes. We then had dinner at Fiddlers at the Mayapple Golf course which was great. Good to have nice company and reminisce about the college and med school years.

6/21/21 As Laurie doesn’t backpack now got shuttle driver to take us north to slackpack south.Hiked only 8.1 miles. Brief side trail off AT to Pole Steeple,an outlook to the west. Very hot humid day then at the end got caught in a thunderstorm although relatively brief. Stayed in her mini Winabego which actually was large.
