4/28/21 Left the place I was staying bought more food. Had a hamburger from a convience store which they cooked. Nice hiking weather saw people in town I recognized including Ruthy and Icebreaker and hiked to the 15.9 miles to the Lost Mountain Shelter. Set up camp ate slept well

4/29/21 Got out at 10:00 AM nice hiking weather warm partly cloudy skies. Piper was good a trail angel was on the road had clementines chocolate bar started last leg of hike up Mount Rogers highest in Virginia became windy started raining went as fast as I could and we were able to squeeze into shelter. Saw familiar faces with Easy Rider, Eagle. Piper was good. Currently at mile 499. Realized as a kid in Maryland my favorite wild fire was May Apple which doesn’t grow in NH. I was fortunate where I grew up with the woods and Paint Branch in my backyard. I thought it was wilderness. In NH my favorite wild flower is the Bunch Berry which doesn’t grow in MD
