Today had breakfast with Allen and Joni brought back the rental car. Piper was great at Allen’s house. Saw Daniel who is all grown up tall nice young man. Set up tent in Allen’s backyard. Allen drove his car and Piper was great in the car. Stopped at an REI in Delaware and got some additional food for lunches on the trail and got a deuce of spades in order to take a cat hole as I left mine at home. Also got a small towel and a couple of tent stakes. Got a new Opsack as I tore my old one somehow.Allen has been extremely helpful.Went to a good restaurant where you order at the counter and we ate inside which Allen had not done since the pandemic started. Piper stayed in the car with the windows cracked and was great. Drove to Maryland to Paula’s house and Mark was there as well as my father and Sandi. They seem to be doing OK. Piper met Mia and Piper looked somewhat scared of Mia but Mia just wanted to play and was great by night time it look like they were beginning to play. Piper is just nervous being in the car new places and that’s understandable but she’s been great. Mark ordered some food from a Chinese restaurant and I’m up late trying to arrange my stuff. Allen is so organized it’s truly amazing and I’m jealous. Tomorrow morning we drive to Georgia which is about nine hours away.
