I would like to give a shout out to Bluff Mountain Outfitters. Their customer service is excellent. I had broken a trekking pole coming down into Hot Springs Southbound along the last steep downhill from Lovers Leap section of trail. I came into the store and asked if there was anything they could do for me broken pole. They were able to replace the segments and refused payment. This was amazing and critical for me and my morale, with the terrain, my Durston tent, and being at day four of a seven day section hike. I really thought I was going to be buying a pair of poles. Glad I had a good set of poles for the next three days South. This is truly the hiking community in action. Michael "Tenacious"
Definitely stay at Elmer’s Sunnybank Inn. Super cozy, vegetarian/vegan meals, and great conversation with Elmer and other guests!
You’re only major resupply option is NOC on the main drag. They do have a solid selection of goods. Several lodging options at fluctuating prices. The beer is cheap and the food is good. Glad this town is directly on the AT.
super cool little town, very friendly. dont miss the smoky mountain diner
Hiker based town. Great food, decent resupply at general store and Dollar General.
The cutest town on the AT so far! The trail winds right through town, so you can walk past everything you need. Make sure to stay at Elmer's Sunnybank Inn - it's the best.
Small little fun town with outfitter, nightly music, some bars allow you to work, also pool tables to chill and relax.
Hot springs is best trail town ever! Love the hike from Maxpatch to into town. Smokie Mountain Diner is heaven on earth as you come off the trail! Plenty of places to stay!
You have GOT to grab a quart of sweet tea from Smoky Mt Diner, take a soak in the natural hot spring hot tubs, grab a steak and a BOTTLE of wine from the Iron Horse, and stay with Mr Elmer at Sunnybank Inn... in that order¡ His breakfast is phenomenal!!
