Mt. Laguna is a cool little area but the general store is extremely pricey. Chex mix, for example is $4/bag for a small bag. It’s worth stopping if you want a quick snack or refreshment. The owners are jerks to hikers and charge $10 for getting your box. They’re super rude about sharing rooms and just in general treat us poorly. It wasn’t just my experience either. Everyone I’ve talked to complained about them. If you’re going to stay, get an Airbnb at the tiny houses. It’s cheap and you can share with others.
This resupply was a bit too early for me as I gave most of it away. I sent it to the lodge, because I was concerned with the post office hours. The post office was open & right next door to the lodge. The lodge charged me $10 or $15 even though I purchased some items from their store.
