Completed in 1993, the Pacific Crest Trail is a continuous footpath that stretches 2,652 miles from the US/Mexico border to the US/Canada border. It weaves through a variety of biomes, up and down the tallest mountains in the contiguous US, and across the most pristine wilderness in the world. On average it takes 5.5 months to complete a full thru-hike of the trail and only about 1 in 4 hikers reach the end. Hiker's face extreme heat, bitter cold, elevation sickness, fire reroutes, physical pains, and overwhelming mental challenges on their journey. Their ordeals make them stronger for it, and leaves a hiker with a catalogue of memories that will last a lifetime.
