Day 40

lol another zero in tehachapi

This will be the most interesting blog yet. Woke up and went to breakfast and then doomed scrolled Instagram reels until 11 when I decided to do something with my life aka go get food. Got food, paid way to much for a salad and smoothie and the salad they forgot to make so I had to go up and remind them. So awkward. Even though I paid I felt like a Karen. She felt bad and gave me a banana loaf as her way of asking for forgiveness. Didn’t work. Went to pick up candy at the convience store, again paid way too much money for gushers and clussies (nerd clusters) and then went back to the hotel room to rot some more. I did take a nap and woke up in a hot sweat confused where I was. Decided to go to pool for a lil which was great then walked to the Walmart to pick up cheese and dinner for the gals aka the guys. Super exciting. Then we all ate dinner in our room watching summer house reality tv and my strange addiction which as always is disgusting. The girl drank her own pee/bathed in it and another ate dirt. It’s gotta be a gag. Then I went to bed. Overall, boring ass day but I still gotta record it. Oh! I did try sour skittles flavored drink. Awful. That’s it.

The main reason why we took another unplanned zero was because of the fire that had happened around mile 590. There were really no updates about it so we didn’t want to make the wrong call. Once an update came through late, the fire had been 60% contained and only 4,000 acres. So we decided to hike the next day. We were also able to talk to a cal fire woman who said it was basically contained and not traveling towards the pct. A third zero was rough and mentally wasn’t what I needed. I was truly starting to miss the trail and wanted to be back on it.
