Just wrapped up at Scout and Frodos, our trail angels in San Diego that graciously shared meals, advice, shipping supplies, and other odds and ends. Met Chloe and Ben from Australia, Francesco from Italy, Daniel and Vareen from Germany, Matis from Slovenia, Tamir from Israel, and Kiri from the Czechia. All were solo hikers. I couldn’t imagine coming to the states to hike this trail jet lagged and alone. Crazy…

Devin, Matis, and I are on the shuttle to Campo, CA to get dropped at the Southern Terminus. Matis starts his hike today but Devin and I are staying at an AirBnB up the road from the starting location. I don’t think I’ve been judged any harder than when we told our driver where we were staying. Either way, we’ll take one last indoor shower and a bed to sleep in. Weather looks to be sunny with a high of 75 for our start.
