Yesterday wasn’t great. We left from Jax, but we didn’t account for the ATL July 4th weekend traffic. Wanted to get on trail around 2:00, but ended up making it around 7:00. Only made it to Stover Creek Shelter. Molly and I took a picture , so when I get lost, it’ll be easier to identify me.

Still figuring out this app. Met a fellow West Point grad on the trail. Maureen graduated in 1985. It was cool talking to her for a while as we were both catching our breath. Still hiking today, but going to hit Woody Gap and then see if I want to squeeze out any more miles. Trying to catch up from yesterday. I’m trying to get miles, but at the same time I’m trying to listen to my body. I overdid it on my last training hike and got injured. The mind is willing, but the flesh is letting me down. I’ll try to show some patience while my body gets into hiking shape and not force the issue. Patience isn’t one of my virtues, however.
