Day 78

Written on Jun 4th 2022 at 12:53 AM

I hiked 19.8 miles today. The started out kinda wet because it rained early this morning before I left the shelter so the leaves were all dripping and the low brush got my pants wet but then after a little while the sun came out and dry up all the rain. It turned out to be a beautiful day. I’m staying High Point shelter at mile 1,341.5 tonight not sure yet where or how far I’m going tomorrow we’ll see. Today was a very nice rest day. Mike and Karissa came up and visited me at a state park like half a mile from the shelter I’m staying at tonight which was super cool. They brought me Chick-fil-A and we talked and stepped in the lake it was a good time of fellowship. Mike and Karissa made my day more enjoyable. I walked on a road close to a town today so stopped at a sports shop and got some snacks and drinks and to rest. On the way back to the trail I saw a massive turtle that looked like it got run over by a vehicle. It kinda surprised me cause I’ve never seen a turtle that big but alas it was dead?. I’m looking forward to tomorrow.
