I hiked 24.7 miles today. It was a very eventful day. There was trail magic twice today the first one was perfect timing cause I was about to take a break anyway. They had breakfast sandwiches and fruit and Gatorade that’s a pretty nice combination for a hiker. The next one came a couple miles farther along and it was just snacks, fruit, and sodas but still a nice break and time to relax and refuel. Right after the second trail magic I past the halfway point of the Appalachian trail I now have less to do than I have done, oh yeah, let’s go. A little while after the halfway point I past the 1,100 mile marker. Right now I’m at James fry shelter at mile 1,112 feeling good about tomorrow even though it looks like storms. I saw a rattlesnake today finally, thankfully someone else pointed it out so I wasn’t the one who almost stepped on it. It was at lunch time so it was on a path to the shelter that I didn’t walk on because I ate at the cooking pavilion a little to the side of the shelter but the rattlesnake was kinda cool to see.

I hiked 20 miles today. It started out a nice warm day I was sweating a lot climbing over a bunch of rocks up and down kinda steep small mountains. Then about halfway through the day I hiked into flat farm land and past Boiling Springs, Pennsylvania I went another 7 miles or so past Boiling Springs and stopped at a quality inn really close to the trail. Here my parents and all my younger sisters came to visit me which is something I always look forward to and enjoy immensely. We went to a park and had supper and just hung out for a little it was very refreshing. I saw another snake today but it was just little and harmless. I’m starting out the day tomorrow on more flat farm land but then after that it turns to rocksylvania it’s gonna be fun and probably a little painful but that’s just part of it all. I’m looking forward to tomorrow.
