Day 14
Yesterday was all research, today was all action on my injury!
Started the morning with shin splint yoga, packing my pack, reading and elevating my leg, and other prep to leave the hostel (which was wonderful, restorative, highly hiker friendly and had a friendly Burmese mountain dog).
I then purchased KT tape, leg compression sleeves, and more cushioned socks, followed by a grocery trip dedicated to a diet of anti-inflammatory foods to help me flush the inflammation out of my muscles.
I am now at a trail angel named Kenny’s place. There are approximately 10 other hikers here and despite ample pro-Trump paraphernalia, he offers tremendous care and generosity to all the hikers who come through. I’m just happy to have a bed inside as the temps near Big Bear drop to below freezing this week. Brrrr.
