Day 50

Written on May 6th 2022 at 10:45 PM

I hiked 16.5 miles today so a short day but it was with a town stop at Glasgow, Virginia. I hiked 14.5 there, got into town, resupplied, and had lunch and got back out and hiked another 2 miles to John’s hollow shelter. I got here at about 3:30 so I had a lot of time to relax and read my Bible. It was foggy, dreary, and wet today but in the midst of all that the flowers today just seemed to shine out clearer. They smelled really good today which was super nice because I stink. I don’t know why but seeing all the bright flowers on this otherwise rainy day was kinda encouraging. I don’t know if any of you ever hiked all day in the rain with soaked socks and shoes but when you do and you take off your shoes and socks when your done your feet are kinda weird and wet and gray and wrinkled and it looks really weird. At least that’s what happens to me. It looks like rain again tomorrow but we’ll see. Whatever may come I’m lookin forward to it because it is a day that the Lord has made and I will rejoice and be glad in it.
