Day 46

I hiked 18.8 miles today and wow it was a gorgeous day. A high of 80 but with the trees starting to have leaves and a nice breeze going pretty much all day it was amazing. I got started a little bit earlier today so I could have breakfast up on Mcafee knob which was phenomenal. It was super sweet to have breakfast on top of a mountain with such a great view. And after I went down the mountain and went up another one I was hiking on the tinker cliffs which is kinda scary at moments because the trail goes right on the edge of the cliffs for a little while. But tinker cliffs was great views pretty much the whole time I hiked up there. It was really cool because it was super green on one side then it changed abruptly to rocks and the edge of the cliff on the other side. I’m in town right now Daleville, Virginia the trail goes straight through it so that’s super nice. Daleville is at mile 730 so I’m almost a third of the way down which is sweet. Yesterday was one of the worst days on trail so far and today kinda redeemed all that because today has been one of the best days on trail so far. I’m sure that will happen again but I know that the bad days can’t and won’t last forever. Aw man I just listened to Sams speech from lotr the tow towers and that about describes it so y’all should listen to that and be encouraged??. My ankles are feelin a little beat up so I’ll probably take a zero tomorrow to rest them up plus it’s supposed to storm tomorrow and hiking in the rain gets old kinda fast. So rest has been prescribed to myself by myself even though I should keep hiking. I hope you all had just as great a day as I did. I miss all y’all’s.
