Day 26

27 miles

I got so lucky last night. I cowboy camped under some bushes and even though it rained I didn’t get a drop on me. Really pushing it lately but I’m a really lazy hiker and I love sleeping under the stars.

27 miles in today to get into the town of Erwin TN. We didn’t plan on going so far but we finished 20 miles pretty early and the elevation gain and loss going ahead was just right. Plus the thought of a warm bed and cold beer is always ever so enticing. Two Tone is kind of the leader of the group, she has a spreadsheet and she knows the mileage and elevation for each stretch, along with where we need to resupply and stop for lunch. It’s good to have someone like this in our group because the rest of us are so nonchalant about the whole thing that we’d probably never leave town if we didn’t have one person dragging us out.
