Day 56

Written on Apr 19th 2022 at 12:11 PM

Well it was colder than I expected it would be last night. It was raining most of the night but then I woke up to a different sound. That’s definitely snow falling. Yep! My tent had a nice layer sticking to it and there was just enough still on the ground to let me know the kind of morning I was about to have; another day packing up the tent with stinging cold fingers. Please tell me this is the last time! I don’t know if my fingers can take any more of it. My Tempe says 32.8 right now (typing this section of my journal at 8:16 in the morning) and the forecast shows the high will only be 48. The lows during this coming weekend will be 51 so that’s a big difference. Time to brave the cold and get to Damascus.

Made it in time for breakfast! After eating at the Damascus Diner, I headed over to Dragonfly Inn and my room was all ready for me. I’m happy I got my shower before 1pm and now can head out to resupply for the next section, which I’m still figuring out. That’s going to do it for this post. I’m going to do my chores and relax the rest of the day and back out tomorrow.
