Day 16
I woke up to everything being wet. It was definitely like camping in a cloud. Instead of getting up right at 6am as I have been, I waited for it to get lighter outside as I could barely see 10 feet in front of me. Walking to the privy and back to the tent was an adventure in itself without being able to see far. It was a really rough day for me. The rush I had that propelled me forward yesterday seems to have ended. The climbs were brutal and I had a really bad pain on top of my right foot. It was just a mental funk I couldn’t break. Most of the day was gloomy and wet until the sun started peeking out right before the end of the days hike. I was so happy when I got to my planned camp spot. It was early in the day but I just had to stop. There was zero cell service so I couldn’t get anything done online. I ate a cold meal and was in bed by 6pm resting and reading my Kindle before going to sleep at 7pm. Going to be a big day tomorrow. That winter storm is coming and I need to get some serious miles in to beat it.
