Day 11

Today was a short day. Got up early to watch the sunrise, packed up my backpack and climbed over the rest of Blue Mountain down to Unicoi Gap. Once there, we were blessed with trail magic by George (Lightning) and waited for our ride to Around the Bend Hostel. First, we got a lift to Huddle House for some town food and then a resupply. Once at the hostel, I made a dash for the shower and then to wash my clothes. I’ve never been so dirty or smelled so bad in all my life! Let’s just say I kept my arms down not to offend. I feel human again after the shower. Okay, time to relax and then heading back to the trail at 7am. I’ll spend a few days getting to Dick’s Creek Gap and then will be back at this hostel. That will set me up to go 4 days or so (most likely in rain) to North Carolina.
