Day 9
First thing this morning, I got to experience something new. Let’s just say it has to deal with digging a hole and leave it at that. As someone who’s always been a night owl and hated mornings, it’s amazing how early I’m going to bed and how early I’m waking up. I set my alarm for 6:15am but have been waking up before 5:30am. I would have been fast getting out of camp, even before sun up, but I decided I deserved a warm breakfast so I heated water and put in a Starbucks Via instant coffee packet and a Carnation Instant Breakfast. It was wonderful and warm but it made it slower getting out of camp. I think I’ll just have a breakfast bar tomorrow. I went 7.5 miles today to Low Gap Shelter. There not many flat camp spots here but at least there are bear cables to hang the food bags and a privy for in the morning. Oh, I also met Solo and Daisy who were doing trail magic. Got a Snickers, a pop tart and an oatmeal pack along with my water filled. I appreciate trail angels so much! The hospitality warms my heart. Okay, got water. Hanged the food bag and off to bed at 6:10pm. (I cannot get over how early I’m going to bed. LOL!)
