Day 6

Today makes the rainy miserable day yesterday completely worth it. It as a nice Nero just going over Blood Mountain, enjoy the view, eat a pizza at Mountain Crossing be meet Just Bill (The Pack Whisperer) there. My pack broke yesterday; the metal bar along the top for creating the arc. After meeting Just Bill, I asked him if he could fit me with a better pack. This man worked wonders! I cannot explain how comfortable my new pack is. With all the same gear, plus a switchback pad, it feels 10 pounds lighter! He taught me all I needed to know about adjusting the straps on the fly for uphill, down hill, etc. This is a game changer! I cannot thank him enough! My pizza was paid for by a trail angel. I met so many nice people. Lucky then picked me up and brought me to Above the Clouds hostel and it’s a full house of amazing hikers. Everyone is extremely nice and there’s such an amazing energy in this room as we all sit around in our loaner clothes (the hostel is washing our clothes for us) and we share stories. THIS is something that must be experienced as much as the views. I will have a zero tomorrow and plan the next stretch. Also use the leg and foot massage chair. LOL!
