Day 4
Pushed on 8.1 miles to Gooch Mountain Shelter. Pretty sad I had to pick up 2 food wrappers on trail. Luckily, I came across my first Trail Angel, Norm, who took my trash, gave me a Gatorade and a cupcake. Couldn’t have happened at a better time since it was in an area with no water for miles. Met a few guys on trail that we kept passing each other as we each stopped to rest. I hiked half the day around a guy named Matt, who is a baker, I believe in Maine but his parents own a brewery I know well near my hometown. We are splitting a tent pad here where they want 2 tents per pad. Everyone I’ve met on trail so far is awesome, except for a guy I call “camo guy” but that’s a story for another day. Oh, in the pictures, I have my breakfast I made for lunch. SO GOOD! Granola, milk powder, banana, strawberries and blueberries. Then I had Mac & Cheese for dinner. Time to tuck in soon and relax for the night.
