Day 1

It’s official! I’m registered with hiker tag #452. After getting the required photo in front of the stone arch (along with all the wonderful friends who came along to hike the approach trail with me), we walked the stairs up Amicalola Falls and to the lodge where we’re staying for the night. Since we got here before the rooms were ready, beers were a good reward. Since it’s February and this morning started so rainy and miserable, I expected a wet start to this hike but, boy, was it HOT today! Going to sleep like a baby tomorrow and heading to the Hike Inn tomorrow with the crew.
