Day 71

Written on Jul 4th 2021 at 4:33 AM

We woke today with lots of stuff wet again. The night before soaked my bag and sleeping bag. I did stay warm though. I started climbing around 6:30am and stopped 5 miles in. There was a bit of climbing but I was feeling refreshed from the day before. I had no aches or pain or anything. The terrain was clearly changing from the high Sierra to more of a forest with lots of boulders.

We pushed and breaked every 5 miles. We waited out a storm again in our tents about 15 miles in where I met Sneaks, Two Gaits, Price Point, and Honey Bear. We made the final push for 5 miles and got to camp. Hot Springs was here with her boyfriend which was nice. Within minutes of setting up camp a large storm came in. Thankfully I stayed dry.
