Day 27

Fire Station #2 to Hikertown (517.6). Getting ready for Aquaduct hike through the desert. PCT miles - 8.3

Ride with Lucky Charm’s trail angel worked out! She picked us up at the road closure and dropped us at Neenack Market where we grabbed additional day snacks. After we shopped another trail angel transported us to the interesting Hikertown.

Met lots of hikers here. Fun meeting place. This place looks like an old movie set that has seen better days. Each one of the little ‘cabins’ (shacks) is decorated in a theme - Bank, Doctor, Jail, etc. We are in the Flower Shop. No flowers, but lots of paintings of flowers. Nice that Hikertown is here. Don’t know what we would do if it wasn’t.

Saw Astro and Viking again. They are leaving at 3:00 in AM to try to beat heat and wind and get up the trail 25 miles to water and tent site. Another group is leaving at 6:00 PM to hike all night. We are in the early rising group. We plan to take 2.5 days to hike the 48 miles to Hwy for hitch to Tehachapi.
