Had to deal with a sloping tent last night which didn’t help when I woke up feeling dizzy. Not sure if I am dehydrated or sick or both but it lasted all day. Luckily we had a short day today but I am concerned about tomorrow when we will have no choice but to do a long 18 mile day because of a shelter closer due to an aggressive bear and strict rules in the smokies that only allow camping at shelters.

Our last day in the Smokies gave us snow in the morning and sunburns in the afternoon. We had to hike our longest day yet because of the closed shelter but it wasn’t as hard as we expected. We ended the day at Standing Bear Hostel where we tented to save money instead of paying for bunks.
