Day 2

Moreno lake (21.0) to Kitchen Creek (30.0)

PCT miles today - 9.0

Stopped very early (11:00AM) at a lovely campsite next to flowing stream (in the desert!). We have reservations for Laguna Lodge tomorrow night, so our plan was to cut the mileage days in half to ensure all was good. We’ve been mighty bored here this afternoon and wish we had hiked longer, but played with equipment, organized, and watched a hummingbird bathe in the stream. Met Heather and Ulma this morning. They then joined us as we were pondering whether we should just camp here. They continued on to the next multitent site. Our tent takes such a big footprint, we are a bit worried we will monopolize too much coveted ‘real estate’ in limited camp sites. Anyway, easy day to scope out the rest of the week. Laguna tomorrow. Met Ethan and Thaddeus at site. Evening joined by Javier and Dave to share our slice of paradise- very nice.
