The first 6 miles out of Lake Morena to Boulder oaks(?) were great. We killed it before lunch. Water was getting scarce because I didn’t want to hike down to it. Paid for that later with having to walk to Cibbits Flat campground. .7 down for water and .7 back up to get on the trail. Stayed there for the night.

Mile 32.6

Up and over Mt Laguna. Slept at mile 45.8 so a 13, 14ish day. Snow and mud here and there. Slippery in places and reminds me that the last few days there have been 2 rescue helicopters for people.

15.7 miles today... damn that was a lot and water was scarce so we had to camel up at mile 52 from the cistern. Nothing for the next 15 miles. We camped at 61.5

Wow.. where did the days go!! I’m finally going back to fill in the blanks. A huge day starting at 61.5 down to scissors. Yesterday was a camel because we hiked 8 miles from the last water. 7 today before a reliable source. It was hot and getting hotter.

We bailed at the road, 76.3, and hustled to get to Stagecoach RV. A cabin, free showers, a pool, and laundry for $4. The folk here were great too totally put up with my brain not responding to where I was. They close a 5pm and are closed Sunday and Monday. If you can make it here it’s well worth it. 14.8 trail miles and a 2.2 mile walk until hitching for a ride paid off.
