Holiday Motor Lodge is a shady place to stay. The check in folks are kind but the rooms are pretty gnarly. I suggest staying somewhere else. Angel's Rest is a good hostel. Dining options abound (definitely hit up La Marraca) and the resupply (Food City) is conveniently located near the AT. There are plenty of kind folks in Pearisburg willing to give you a ride if needed.

good town for the thru hiker

Angels rest is amazing! Their entire focus is on hikers. Shuttles, resupply, massages, chiropractic rite on site. Don"t get caught in the vortex!

Great town that is hiker friendly for sure! Loved staying at Angel's Rest; great resupply options at the Food Lion.

Decent town along the trail. Has a Walmart for resupply. I stopped in to go to the ER due to some stomach pain and ended up crashing at the Holy Family Hostel for the night which was a good stay.
