Hitching is not easy on that busy road, and I heard of hikers getting "no showed" by a shuttler named Flip. But if you can make it into town, it is surprisingly hiker friendly. Mountain Trails was a fantastic and friendly outfitter, sandwiched between a brewery and a bakery. Those local businesses keep a pristine laundry room and shower area with lockers going for the hikers, and it's all free. The brewery is expensive to eat but worth it for the drinks! Super good Thai food at Thunwa Thai next to the Quality Inn.
Cute Main Street and lots of food options. Was given great service at the outdoor retail store (Mountain Trails) and enjoyed the new Basecamp facility (showers, laundry, lockers for backpacks, shoe dryer, loaner clothes and hiker box). Favorite coffee shop: Happy Creek Coffee. Typical hotel/motel options. Could walk to Main Street from our hotel but took short taxi to resupply at the grocery store.
