Hi, my name is Deserrae. I go by the name "Early Bird" when I'm on the trail. I thru hiked the Appalachian trail NOBO in 2019 and fell in love. Since then I've been living and working at Telluride ski resort in Colorado. I'm so excited to attempt a NOBO thru hike of the CDT this year! I hope you enjoy following along... Happy Trails!

42 days until I am standing at Crazy Cook Monument at the Mexican/American Border in New Mexico to begin my NOBO hike of the CDT! My boyfriend "Rockslide" aka Luke surprised me for my birthday by taking us to Monarch ski resort where the CDT crosses in Colorado! Starting tomorrow in March I'm starting to dial in my gear set up and sell off some belongings as well as figuring out a place to store my car. I work at Telluride ski resort and our season ends April 4th. I've been working 7 days a week since Thanksgiving at a ski shop and Tai restaurant to make this hike happen.
