Tons of resupply options, even a Trader Joe’s! Hitching in from Elk Lake is the move, we ended up calling a trail angel named Woody off of a list online and he gave us a ride in to town and a lot of recommendations for what to do on our visit. Bend should definitely be a stop.

We spent an unplanned zero in Bend, because we loved the town so much! Resupply is easy at Walmart and they have this awesome thing called RideBend that will get you around downtown for free!

Sparrow Bakery is confirmed awesome for breakfast sandwiches banana bread and cookies!

A lot of breweries and taverns. Resupply was a hassle as we needed to go to several stores to find everything we needed. There is a Walmart, a Grocery Outlet, a Target, and at least two Dollar Trees. Walk-in rates in hotels can be lower than booking in advance.

Bend is seriously amazing! There’s tons of lodging available, restaurants, breweries and an REI for resupply. The downtown area is where the REI is located and the town is relatively small so its easy to find your way around. Highly recommend stopping in, resting, and eating some local food and beer.

Great place , reasonable close to several waypoints to PCT

Amazing town about and hour off trail. Took me two hitched and around 4 hours to hitch from trail both ways but someone will stop eventually. Lots of breweries and food options as well as gear shops. Highly recommend.

Bend is an awesome town roughly an hour from the trail. It’s a common and worthwhile stop while thru-hiking. There’s everything from hostels to hotels, breweries, restaurants, full size grocery stores (Fred Meyer, Albertsons, Whole Foods, Safeway), local outfitters. and even an REI. If you can get a hitch, it’s absolutely worth stopping in.
