4/4/21 Got out reasonably early ice like monorail made slow going. One shelter looked closed, weather cool but sunny. Long day hiking Cindy was supposed to met me with Piper once I exited the Smokies original time 4 PM NO way I was going make that changed it to 6:00 still didn’t get out until 7:15 PM. Right knee was hurting but that fortunately resolved but Right foot hurt from hot spots. Had to keep hiking once down and in tent feet looked okay. Saw few people except at the end where day hikers I believe doing a sunset hike. Got to spot where I exited Smokies and no Cindy. Eventually she found me. Exhausted Piper was good. Walked up AT a little and found place to set up tent.
