Campground to wrightwood - 11.5 miles
Total - 363.4 miles
Woke up today on the clouds. Not cold though and that’s important. Got on trail for an up, up, up day. But this has to be some of my favorite views ever because half way through the day we got above the clouds/fog and it was beautiful. Pictures above, locked and loaded. We then got to the road that we were supposed to hike down off the trail to skip some of it as it is closed due to the wrightwood fire in September. They are giving it some time to rest and recover before hikers spread their shit all over it. Speaking of shit I swear to god my shit was 2 pounds today. I gasped when I saw it. Felt so much lighter. Anyways, this was the end of our continuous footpath as we have to detour around 15 miles of trail. We got down to highway 2 to try to hitch. 45 minutes later we had no hitch so we set one up with the trail angel Liz (fucking G, love that woman). Right before she got to us, the bard pulled down his shorts to his ankles with his lil tight underwear on and his thumb out. Not 3 minutes later a guy pulled over asking if he was okay thinking he got into a bike crash? Strange. The bard and Christian went with him and we stayed back for Liz. She gave a lil tour of the town (so cute) and told us the important information aka where all the free shit is for pct hikers. We were orginally going to be in and out of the town but she had such a good proposition and living situation that we infiltrated her place quickly. A place to stay, a cooked meal, she does our laundry (she offered herself we did not tell her to), and a shower. We then got lunch at the grizzly cafe which was phenomenal. Resupplied as well (thank you mom, I love you mom/dad) which I have way too much food for the next section. 36 pounds with two liters of water. Then we hit the free shit: free coffee/tea at a cafe, and a free glizzy at the market. Both were amazing especially since they were free. At the cafe the bard sang a lil songs and played his guitar. Phenomenal voice and even better playing skills. Then Liz came to pick us up to bring us to our new home. After organizing our stuff and showering, the sweet mother of mine did some PT on all of us. Again, I love you. For dinner Liz made sausages, corn on the cob, baked beans, and potatoes. A home cooked meal is one of the many things I am missing right now. We chatted and then she brought out cookies and hot chocolate with HOMEMADE MARSHMELLOWS with whip cream. Best day of my life. I could kiss her. I would’ve if she let me. Before we came here we saw aqua man again and cooked him for being aqua man. The issue is also he was hanging around the hardware store with all the other pct hikers and still not drying out all his shit from trying to sleep in the river from TWO NIGHTS AGO. It just proves men are stipid before their brains develop. Not all men but a good majority of them. We also ran into vanish the Canadian and I think we left a good impression on him bc if he wasn’t doing 35 mile days he said he liked us enough to want to stay with us. He’s pretty chill and I like him. He’s trying to do the continuous footpath so he’s road walking like 30 miles extra to work around the closure which sounds miserable but I respect the grind. Got to talk to hunter today but it’s difficult because I’m always around everyone so I don’t feel like I can comfortably talk to him without getting roasted by the guys. Will try not to give a fuck in future. Currently sleeping on my pad on Liz’s deck with my sleeping quilt, and fuzzy blanket and pad looking up at the stars. Gorgeous. Mother Nature never fails to amaze me☝️😀. Also got some crucial cat time with Liz’s cats. But that’s all folks. Going over Baden Powell tomorrow which will make me hate my life with the amount of food I am carrying. Love you all
Gotta love the stupid in some guys. Never ceases to amaze me. You girl are a smart ass beast! So proud of you❤️
