Day 58. 11.3 miles to Abington Gap Shelter. What a day! We started out with trail magic from Just Joe who had Bojangles biscuits at the trail head. The trail was very cruisey, overall not a lot of elevation, wide and fairly easy overall. I know we have done a lot of hostels in the past few days-i have had 3 showers so far this week which is spoiling me, but with all that I had a lot of joy and gratitudes on the trail today and was happy to be hiking again. I did 11.3 miles in less than 7 hours which is super fast for me. I had enough service that I was able to call my Sisder and mom and chat with them while hiking for a bit. I was all for doing smoother few miles since it was early, butWill was feeling a little sore, there’s a possibility of thunder storms tonight and there’s no water for the next several miles so we would have to carry heavy so we all decided to stay at the shelter and then roll out early to go to Damascus tomorrow. Todays trail wisdom-a lot of the shelters have shovels and tools, one girl pre digs her cat hole at night so she doesn’t have to do that in the morning when she goes to the bathroom!! What a revelation! 🤯
