Wild night at miles in the sense that the wind was going AGAIN, and I was surrounded by snorers. Truly a terrible night to sleep. Woke up early at 5:20 to get on the road at 6ish and cruised through the first couple of miles until my knee started to hurt. Called mom to get a diagnosis as it was a 2/10 pain, below the knee cap but inside. Mom easily diagnosed it as patella tendinitis and told me to take smaller steps and tape it if I can to brace it. The next couple miles sucked until I got to another water cache to tape up the knee. After it felt okay but once I started hiking with mark, he paced me and it felt a lot better. We got to little bears place praying for ice cream specifically an ice cream sandwich which had. Immediately grabbed one and it was the best tasting thing ever. After, we sat around lounging and hanging out with the kids, dog and cat. Truly nothing special but at the same time extremely special. Caleb and mark made three cheese mash potatoes which I traded some cheddar for a bite of both of there mash potatoes. Amazing as well, making me think I need to get on the mash potato craze. Other than that, my face is slightly burnt so I need to get better at putting sunscreen on. Rough but not too rough of a day. Super excited for our Nero and zero days ahead. We got big plans in idyllwild!
