Agua caliente creek to mikes place - 14.7 miles

Woke up later this morning to it being freezing cold. Literally did not want to get up. Started the hike to mikes place with trail magic on our minds as some women promised they would be there around lunch. Ripped through the first couple of miles thinking about trail names for people as we have hiked with everyone since basically day 2. I proposed smooth operator to Caleb as he swindled Ben to do his laundry for a chicken bake, talks up all the trail angels, and can get Scotty to agree to any plan. He proposed the Spanish version of that basically since he speaks Spanish and I agreed. Tried out a few for the others which didn’t stick but that’s alright. They proposed to me a whole bunch including mystery woman since I haven’t opened up to any of them or Goldilocks which came later in the day as I have blonde hair and nothing satisfys me bc I always have an opinion. As the bard said “it’s too hot or it’s too cold, always complaining.” Of course joking around but I have a feeling that might stick for some reason. The rest of the 10 miles I caught up to Caleb and we hiked the rest of the way talking politics, religion and other shit which made the hike go faster. He told me about his girlfriend while I gushed about hunter. They are very similar in the way that they think and I feel like they would get along dandy if they knew each other. Got to mikes place around 11:30 am and it looked like a junk yard with a big ass water tank in front of it. We met this guy named Scott which pulled out a pound of weed and told us he got this from cleaning out a mobile home and there were five bags of weed in the cabinets that they took, about 5 years old, which they rehydrated with a tortilla. He looked like he belonged in the mines. Meeting some great folks out here I will say. Scott also told us he got in trouble from the trail angel ladies last night because he had 40 hikers inside the house where they weren’t supposed to be, having a fucking party and ripping beers. The ladies got mad and told Mike and then Mike bitched him out. Luckily, we still got some burritos from Mike which was very kind of him to do after all the chaos he has had to endure from what we understand. This whole place feels like a fever dream. I will never experience anything like this ever again so I have to remember every detail. Overall a great day but very strange. Also started my period today so that fucking sucks but everything else was great.
