Day 51. 13.7 miles to Stan Murray shelter. The day started cold, rainy and windy. Even though we knew we had a long way to go, getting started is hard in with weather like that. Today had a lot of climbing, elevation over 6000 ft at the top of Roan Mountain, but it went pretty well except for the very scary wind gusts. Before we climbed we got trail magic with Waterboy, his girlfriend and their dogs. A great breakfast burrito powered me up the hill. Some cool views on Round Bald and Jane Bald as well. Because I started late and got caught up with trail magic I did get into camp late but Sourpatch had the tent set up, it’s amazing how much warmer it is out of the wind.
