Laguna campground to water tank - 20.9 miles

Woke up bright and early at the campground to get on the road by 6ish hoping to camp at sunrise trailhead. Was so fucking cold so getting out of the quilt was difficult. This was our first major views of some mountains so it was so pretty walking the first 5 miles to our first water source of a water spigot. Got water and treked on. Scotty passed me and that was the last of the people that I saw for 10 miles it felt like. Reroute and I had agreed to maybe stop at sunrise for water instead as we were pushing strong but wasn’t sure if we would stop for water so we were going to decide there. I thought that meant stop at the intersection as it was 0.3 miles off trail. When I got there I didn’t see her so I thought she moved onto the next source 3 miles away. I was hurting tho so morale was down thinking I gotta trek for 3 more miles to catch up. Got to the next water source and she wasn’t there which I was so confused thinking she ate lunch and then continued on again. So I say ate lunch when four lovely ladies came by named mosey, yám, Whitney, and Lisa. We were talking it up for about an hour before I hear reroute scream my name. She had apparently went to the water source and when I didn’t show up she got worried and then assumed I moved on. Glad we were reunited! After an hour we pushed for 6 more miles. Death March basically. Was hurting and preferred the uphills to give my feet and break from sliding around. Finally made it to camp where we lounged and talked and watched our group trickle in of the girls we met and Scotty and Caleb. Everyone is so nice. Burnt my meal a lil which pissed me off but still alright. Definitely not eating enough but we are trying our best. Great views today even though I was looking down for most of the time thinking about my feet and how much they fucking hurt. Calves are loosened and ready to take on Julian tomorrow aka FREE FUCKING PIE. Pct hikers get some good ass benefits bc who the fuck would actually want to do this besides some mentally ill people. oh! I got to call mom and dad (love those guys) and hunter which was much needed (also love that guy). Didn’t cry this time talking to them so that’s a win on the streets creds but can’t promise anything in the future. Hopefully take it easy bc we did such a big day.
