Washington - we made it… well sorta. With some skips for fires and a quick jaunt on the coast, we’ve walked about 1,700 miles north and officially crossed over the Bridge of the Gods into Washington.
Last night, we barely slept. Between the wind, the trains, the boats, and the sprinklers, none of us got more than an hour or two of sleep. Still, we were excited to get back on trail and into Washington.
Within the first three minutes, we were given our first trail magic. The weirdest trail magic we’ve received on trail so far. This lady just gave us each two or three cucumbers and insisted we take more but we didn’t want the weight. Then, we started our hike onward. It wasn’t too bad aside from the exhaustion and the fact we had 20 miles to go around 11AM.
We’re camped in the midst of the old growth forest by a river ready for sleep. It’s right by a bridge which was nice to have dinner.
Sweet dreams…
